SCHAUMBURG (ANP-AFX) - The U.S. producer of mobile phones Motorola has in the second quarter a loss of 28 million dollars. The same period last year still ended with a profit of 1.35 billion dollars.
Revenues fell 19 percent to 8.7 billion dollars, as did the group announced Thursday.
Motorola had the financial markets last week already prepared for a loss. The company has lost market share in favour of competitors like Samsung and Nokia. Motorola sold in the second quarter, 35.5 million mobile phones, giving the company an estimated market share of 13.5 percent.
