That is a Smartphone

A Smart Phone or smartphone is an electronic device that merges a cell phone with features similar to those of a personal computer. Almost all are smart cellular phones that support fully an email client with the full functionality of a personal organizer. An important feature of almost all smartphones is allowing the installation of programs to increase data processing and connectivity. These applications can be developed by the manufacturer of the device by the operator or by a third party. The term "Intelligent" refers to any front, like a miniature QWERTY keyboard, a touch screen, or simply secure access to e-mail from a company, as provided by a BlackBerry.

Definition
The smartphones are distinguished by many features, which include, but are not limited to, touch screens, an operating system and Internet connectivity. The full support to e-mail appears to be a definitive characteristic found in all existing models and announced in 2007. Almost all smart phones also allow users to install additional programs, usually including from third parties, but some sellers like its brand as smart phones even when they do not have this feature.

Among the most important features are Internet access and email, calendar programs, integrated cameras, contact management, accelerometers and some programs navigation as well as occasionally the ability to read business documents as a variety of formats PDF and Microsoft Office

History
The first smartphone was designed by IBM in 1992 and was called Simon. He was shown as a product concept in this year's expo COMDEX. He was released to the public in 1993 and marketed by BellSouth. Besides being a mobile phone, containing calendar, address book, world clock, calculator, book entries, e-mail, send and receive faxes and included games. He had no physical buttons to dial. Instead using a touch screen to select contacts with the finger or to create facsimiles and memos with an optional stylus. The text was admitted with a keyboard predictive included in the display. For the standards of today, Simon would be far low-end phones.

The Nokia 9000, released in 1996, was catalogued as a communicator, but it was arguably the first in a line of smartphones. The Ericsson R380 was sold as a "smartphone", but could not run native applications from third. While the Nokia 9210 was arguably the first smart phone operating system, Nokia continued referring to him as a communicator.

While the Nokia 7650 (announced in 2001) was referred to as a "smart phone" in the media and is now called "smartphone" on-site support Nokia, the press called it a phone for the photographic field. The term gained credentials in 2002 when Microsoft announced its operating system for cell phones, then known as "Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone 2002." [6]

More than 1000 million cell phones with cameras will be sold in 2008. The smartphones with full support for e-mail will represent about 10%, ie 100 million units.
