SAMSUNG E900

It is really a supertelefoon!
General comments
I have the e900 now almost a year long, and I must say that the
a superding is! You're very quickly accustomed to the
touchcreen, so that was no problem for me, I would now not
more haha otherwise, it's really superhandig! I think the quality
the sound of what is good ... The camera I think onwijs
good for a 2 megapixel! It is simply a supertelefoon, really
a winner!
Strengths
Nice design, good camera, tasty toetsjes, many options, bluetooth is super,
everything just works well, in short: A TOPTELEFOON!

Weaknesses
The video stops sometimes automatically, while you're still filming ... And
memory may also have slightly more, but it's not boring ofzo ...
What I also find annoying is that if you flash on, that you used the
Mobile should keep very quiet (What else fails ...), because it is one and
al sweep of the screen ...

To recommend?
Yes! It is a toptelefoon!

Samsung U100 - SGH-U100

I am a graduate of motorola razr v3x to this samsung.
Of course, the thickness of the devices the biggest difference since the motorola nearly 2 cm thick.
This I found very pleasant, along with the beautiful window.

The phone is very solid for n. thickness though ie a piece wider than an average phone.

The camera I personally feel really prut.
There is really terrible to see a lot of noise in even the smallest bit of light.
And I am not even talking about the 4 (!!!) seconds that it takes to 1 photo.
It is almost impossible to get a clear picture on them, you with your hand if you already moves quite simply.
Dark photos are spuuglelijk by the many colors and the noise made by the haze 'sluiter'vertraging caused only makes it worse.
By day, on a sunny day outside, with a still photo item on steps it is to make beautiful pictures.

On Saturday the motorola a 2.0MP camera but which was really so much nicer photos than this "3.2MP camera.
In addition, the absence of a flash also is a point of frustration.

I come in to the keyboard.
The toetsenbordje has been developed as a kind softtouch plate.
It is a slice from 1 piece of plastic over the buttons around.
I personally think the buttons too slippery clicks and a lack of reliefjes (there are 2 bobbeltjes addition to the 5, that does) pressure I also still controlled at the wrong button or beside the desired button.
I had really hoped for a kind of touchscreen feeling like that already done so often (LG is very busy) unfortunately, this really push.

The sound is crisp and I have therefore nothing to note.

On these irritations after I have nothing to say about the device, very fine menuutjes and useful that you duke 2 on a button are working with a smsje to a particular person.

If you go to the beautiful photos and fine convenience I say: Do not do, there are much better phones on the market. (half years in possession)

Samsung G600

RC2000: The design of the G600 I find very beautiful. He feels very solid, though it is open sometimes a bit tricky because you have a tendency immediately a key. This gives you at the D600.

The menu is typical Samsung from some cumbersome, not really special. It is a fun design menu that you can set some species. You can eg no themes assemblies such as the Sony Ericsson. This I think is a weakness because a cellphone is a personal touch shows who you are.

The berichtmelodieën I think under size. I had expected more. There are only 4 melodies from which you can choose. The best and most heard the tune of T-Mobile. Here is a pity that Samsung is not the idea has come to eg as a ringtone berichtone to work such as Sony Ericsson.

The sound, I think sufficient. If you put him on the hardest you hear it clearly.

What I think is clearly a mistake that you no profiles in this unit with a single click can select. You have to set up special institutions to wander and then select phone. Very awkward as opposed to a Nokia and SE.

I was very curious how the photos do with this 5 megapixel swayback that from the very positive reviews came forward. My experience has been a disappointment. Photos with flash, I think very badly and I think the flash as bright spots that I see before my eyes. A huge setback. The pictures are always set to the highest resolution and everything is automatically set. Photos without flash are much nicer, do you really only need daylight needed otherwise it as a 1 megapixel photo. I use the flash because it just barely too late flashes when I make a picture. The device must have very good and you still stick to a good respectable photo.
Regrettably, that if you flash from this move should always off to a photo. Compared with the D600 makes the G600 lesser pictures even though these 5 megapixels (!?).

He has a beautiful and big screen, if you download a photo is very nice to see this as a background on the G600. The keys are fine. Battery is like other Samsung models. This Samsung has made little progress. Every three days, it must be loaded.

As a final point, the memorycard. This I find very awkward to look like and to deploy. He also does not see how much memory you have on, at least I am not able to discover. For institutions, standard memory, it is very cumbersome articulated.

I had expected a more mature device, but Samsung spends only in design and much less on the practical things, see above. (a few days in possession)

Samsung E250-SGH-E250

Negative:
The battery does not last long. Compared with that of my previous X-460, where I sometimes a dozen days could, this battery only three days along with regular (no mp3 radio or used) use.

There are only 4 standard SMS tones, this is not expandable. This should be expandable, with its own downloaded music.

The C-button (cancel, delete) click quite hard when you pressed him. Pressing him during the writing of an SMS, in order to erase a lettertje, you haperen chance that he remains under the other buttons, and you've lost your entire SMS.
In order to the radio to listen through the speaker, the earbuds are plugged. There is no real logical, since you can just play ordinary music through the loudspeaker, without the earbuds.

Sent messages are not stored directly on the phone. You should put just before you sent the message 'Save and send' labeling. This I find regrettable, because that is something I never have in mind.

At the same time listening to an MP3, and do something else on the phone does not.
You can not with ordinary headphones to listen to the mp3's. Only through the included earbuds is possible because there is a special output stage. Too bad, because the quality of most earbuds is usually against.
The lights are lit during charging. Why remains a mystery to me ...

Praise:
The magnificent design
The slide system is good.
The menu is arranged
Expandable memory using Micro-SD, very easy
Fun games, but only demos (but for the games to buy course no mobile phone ...)
The quality of the speaker, even when loud music

The quality of the camera, I have deliberately not put the negative aspects, since you still have to buy a mobile phone, and not some megapixel camera. There are plenty of mobile phones on the market with a megapixel camera, unfortunately they are also expensive.

Conclusion: If you buy this phone, you get excellent value for money. For this price you get Bluetooth, MP3 player, FM radio, camera, slider.

SAMSUNG D900

Why choose the mobile SAMSUNG D900?
Samsung D900 phone is an ultra lightweight with excellent functions that can not fail to try, has 3 megapixel camera and many more functions, they have done this, a telephone xcelente
s
The best thing about cell phones Samsung D900 is that they are inheritors of the great things about Samsung:

1 - The display has one of the best qualities I saw in a long time, is a 2.12-inch TFT QVGA and 262K colors, with a resolution of 240 x 320 but the brightness and clarity of image is simply exceptional.
2 - Design; factor slider is in this format and Samsung really has no competition. It weighs just 85 grams, is very solid to the touch (not as those who seem pure plastic) and is opaque which makes it very discreet; something I'm looking around phone.
3 - Quality of voice signal and this is another typical quality Samsung, this team does not lose signal anywhere (even using the network of CTI that must be the worst throughout Latin America) and the sound of the voice is always clear without distortions.
House

At this point I have mixed feelings, the camera has many functions and parameters to configure, but the truth ... with a cam 3mpx expected to have very good pictures and the reality is that the only I could draw well are those with plenty of light in outdoor environments ... because taken indoors or in poorly lit whites had very hard.

I repeat that, perhaps playing all the roles available my photos had been better, but with the slowness of "Shutter" (call it somehow) almost everywhere I went out or moved out of focus .... despite having a very good autofocus.

Clarification: the photos that were tried as "extra" and 2048x1536, so the forcé always ... 're better at lower resolutions but do I want to 3mpx if I can not explode?

Music player:

At this point the music player is really impressive, the equalizer is very good tunes factory so it was with the available options to choose where he wanted and music are very good.

Connecting to TV

This is perhaps one of the best implementations of exits from a TV mobile phones, not only because you can pick up the standard output but because the cables (which are included with the team) let you connect up via a media center.

And there can handle more in the whole team, from creating contacts:
Using the camera, which automatically switches to full screen so you can see everything you can photograph or film without problems instead of using the "thin" that lets you use space without:
Interface uPlus

This is one of the novelties of D900, an interface that improves some aspects of the browsing experience que se basa en 3 new services: Ugo is a screen saver that takes data from the network on which you connect and you updates clock and wallpaper to reflect the city and use the time you're in reality .. is useful if you're a frequent traveler who goes by different countries ... but has no meaning.

uTrack this function is more interesting if you PROGRAMS equipment and at some point what you steal, when to change the SIM sends an SMS to the number that you chose with the new phone number that is your terminal. Hence so to recover .. There is a long way;)

uMenu this is basically a menu favorites but developed with Adobe and that I, personally, I could not use;)

Samsung Trace Review - Introduction / Design

Introduction

The turnover rate for cell phones is becoming faster as the competition for the thinnest, most hip and media savvy phones becomes greater. Samsung followed Motorola's lead after the release of the SLVR and RAZR by releasing the T509 in the summer of 2006. It was small, but had flaws. Now, only a few months later, Samsung has outdone its T509, and stepped up quality and style with the new Samsung Trace (SGH-T519). This phone boasts a sleeker style and improved features. It's also the thinnest phone out there.

The Trace is stylish, versatile and more than that, has impressive multimedia options including a 262K-color LCD wide screen, 1.3-megapixel camera, video capabilities, MP3 player, external microSD memory slot, and Bluetooth wireless capability. Boasting an enduring battery life, the Trace also comes with T-Mobile's newest added feature, the MyFaves program.

With the hype for the slimmest phones rising, the Trace maintains function as well as form, but some of the functions, such as video capture, can be much improved upon, as can the too hard to handle side charger slot and microSD insert. Compared however to other slim phones out there, including Motorola's new RAZR series, the Trace stands strong. Without a flip top, it's even skinnier than its competition.

Design

"Credit card" type phones are a benefit to any owner who wants to be able to slip it in their pocket, set it on vibrate, and avail themselves for any phone call. But as phones get slimmer, Samsung makes a point of maintaining and improving some features that any cell phone user demands, such as organizational tools, camera, voice recorder and web access. As technology improves, and companies want to make phones that are barely there, they still maintain a standard for features.

The Trace is a sleek sophisticated phone that would make any owner look fashion savvy. With a silver and champagne color exterior and polished metal finish, the 4.45" x 1.97" x 0.33" phone out-thins its predecessor the T509 and the Motorola SLVR.

Ideal for slipping in a small pant pocket or purse for a night out, the Trace's rounded edges give it a bit more flare than the average rectangular phone, setting it apart from the Motorola ultra-thins.

The keys are wide and flat making it easy to avoid misdialing, but the light grey color of numbers on the keypad blend with champagne background making the numbers somewhat indistinguishable, even when backlit, something that most of its owners complain about. This is a feature especially hard to get over when dialing in the sunlight.

The handling of this phone can also get tricky at times. The battery charger is barely noticeable on the side of the phone. The lid comes off and rotates on a white cable to allow the battery charger to slip in. Without nails, it is extremely difficult to open. The microSD slot is the same. Samsung's T509 had a sliding battery charger which was a superior function to this difficult to handle new rotating battery socket.

The Samsung Trace feels fragile at first touch, but when talking on the phone or text messaging, the thin frame feels sturdy and comfortable. The width of the phone allows for a good grip.

Out of the box, the Samsung Trace comes with a Standard 900 mAh Li-Ion Battery, Travel Charger, Ear Microphone, Conversion Plug, Welcome CD, Quick Reference Guide, and User Manual.

Samsung i300 review: Smartphone with a hard disk

There is no doubt that the new Samsung i300 smartphone represents the best of the best Windows Mobile OS can offer nowadays. It has a 3GB hard disk, a high-quality display, a unique steering control button as well as plenty of functions, of which the music ones are probably the most successful. The phone's equipment is wrapped up into a compact and quite elegant body.
Key features

* Windows Mobile OS
* 3 GB hard disk
* Brilliant display
* Standard connector for earphones
* Megapixel camera

Main disadvantages

* Slow data transfer (USB 1.1)
* No EDGE, Wi-Fi or 3G
* 3.5mm audio jack only through adapter

As smartphones represent a top-class technological achievement in the business with mobile phones, it is a matter of prestige for each manufacturer to be able to offer a smartphone. Hence it is no wonder that a device of that high a category has appeared in the offer list of the Korean company Samsung. By the way, Samsung is known for its tendency to often change the OS of its smartphones. The mobile phone we have just tested - Samsung i300 - was announced with Microsoft Windows Mobile 2005, but the final version works with Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 OS Second Edition.

Samsung i300 was shown for the first time this year, at the European trade show CeBit, along with several other smartphones: the slider Samsung D720 featuring Symbian Series 60, the clamshell D730, also with a Symbian OS, and the communicator i750, which has a touchscreen and a slide-out keypad, and works with Windows for Pocket PC OS. Yet, Samsung i300 was the most successful in holding visitors' interest, mainly because of its 3GB hard disk.

Samsung D600 review: Black star

Samsung D600 is a mobile phone with a brilliant display, 2 megapixel camera, memory card and a lot of functions. It will win you over with its stereo sound and the many possibilities for TV connection.
Key features

* fancy design
* top display
* quality 2 megapixel camera
* synchronization options
* TV out

Main disadvantages

* no ringtone profiles
* no radio
* no infrared port

The actual phone used in this review is Samsung D600E - it is the same as the Samsung D600, but it supports EDGE and it is tri-band, not quad-band.

Samsung D600 is one of the most featured mobile phones without operating system. Only strong competitors like Sony Ericsson K750 or Nokia 6230i can be compared with its features and functions. In such comparison it wins with its extremely fancy design; in addition, it wins also with the stereophonic output for Bluetooth or the output for composite video signal. Yes, you can connect this phone to a normal TV with the help of supplied cable without any problems.

This model reminds of the older Samsugn D500, which is still successfully sold at a very good price. The new model inherited from it the whole design conception. It has the same weight and a body with dimensions of 96 × 47 × 22 mm; therefore it's a millimeter wider, but a milliliter thinner.

Samsung FlipShot Review - Introduction / Design

Introduction

Upon removing a brand new Samsung FlipShot from the box, the user will be greeted with a bevy of phone mysteries. How can a device so tiny function as both a cell phone and a digital camera? Will both photo and call quality be up to par? And, perhaps most importantly, just where does the battery go?

The first question is left up to the experts, and the second question to the rest of the review. As for the third question, the entire front panel of the phone lifts off in order to provide access to the battery slot without interrupting the seamless design of the camera face. With even this smallest of details taken care of, the FlipShot promises to be, at the very least, an excellent entry into the field of design.

With an innovative design and an excellent 3.0-megapixel camera, the FlipShot should please cell phone photography enthusiasts. Others, especially those who enjoy watching phone video, will most likely enjoy the phone's high-quality 262K-color internal screen. The remainder of users should be satisfied with a nice-looking phone that offers the standard Verizon phone experience, including organizational applications, 500-entry Contacts list, and a wide variety of messaging options.

Design

The "flip-and-twist" camera design of the FlipShot is, of course, its big selling point. This design feature is explored in further detail in the Camera section of this review. In this section, it is enough to say that this aspect of the design is both easy and fun to use, and certainly stands out as the outstanding feature of this phone. The rest of the phone's design is more than satisfactory, combining a simple black and silver color scheme with a compact functionality.

At 96 x 46 x 19 mm and 110 g, the phone is a little bulkier than some of its ultra-slim contemporaries. However, the phone is in no way bulky, and for what is essentially a two-in-one device, the FlipShot packs a whole lot of functionality into a small package. Although it is average in size for a cell phone, it is certainly on the smaller end of the digital camera size range. The device fits easily into hand in either vertical phone mode or horizontal camera mode.

The "front" of the closed phone (which, of course, is flipped towards the inside of the phone in camera mode) offers no design surprises. The sleek blackness of the front panel is interrupted only by the small external screen and by silver lettering heralding the names of Samsung and Verizon, and announcing to the world the cryptic message of "3.0-Megapixels." As an added fun bonus, hidden keys below the external screen control the phone's music player. A touch in the center of the glassy black panel illuminates a small red play / pause button, whereas touches to the left and right illuminate the back and forward buttons. When not lit up, the buttons leave behind no trace that they ever existed. With its mix of black, silver, and glassy smoothness, the front panel looks cool, and the screen and hidden buttons add to its usefulness.

The back of the phone doubles as the front of the digital camera. Other phones have pulled off this trick before, but usually using the smaller external phone screen as the camera viewing screen instead of twisting around the larger internal screen like the FlipShot. As mentioned above, although the battery is stored under this panel, there is no battery case seem. Instead, the back of the phone offers a smooth black plate with the Samsung and Verizon logos engraved into two separate corners. There is no special embossing or painting of the logos, making them blend unnoticeably into the jet black continuity of the panel. The camera lens hovers off to the right / top, trailed by a floating translucent ovaline flash. Since the lens / flash are on the top when the phone is oriented vertically, users needn't worry about them awkwardly interfering with their phone-gripping. Functional and simple, the back panel gets the job done with a little bit of class.

The clamshell flips open to reveal the standard format of screen-on-top and keyboard-on-bottom. There is nothing out of the ordinary here, and anyone who's used a Samsung / Verizon clamshell before should be right at home. In addition to numberpad, the keyboard features a 5-way navigation button, the standard assortment of Send, Clear, and End / Power buttons, and two dedicated softkeys. To the left of the 5-way key is a button that summons the camera and to the right is one that controls speakerphone. The camera's zoom key (along the side of the phone) doubles as a volume controller as well. Headphones and battery adapter connect to ports along the other side of the phone.

With its much-touted "flip-and-twist" camera screen, the FlipShot offers something new to the phone design scene. The rest of the phone's design is both sleek and functional, offering dual functionality of phone and digital camera in a small, compact package.

Out of the box, the Samsung FlipShot comes with a standard 880 Li-Ion battery, Power Cable, Wrist Strap, Quick Reference Guide and User Manual.

Out of the box, the Samsung FlipShot comes with a standard 880 Li-Ion battery, Power Cable, Wrist Strap, Quick Reference Guide and User Manual.

Samsung Developing Water-Powered Cell Phone Battery

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has developed a micro-fuel cell and hydrogen generator that runs on water. When the handset is turned on, metal and water in the phone react to produce hydrogen gas. The gas is then supplied to the fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen in the air to generate power. Other fuel cells need methanol to produce hydrogen, while Samsung's needs only water.
Since micro-fuel cells can generate up to three watts of electricity, they could be used in mobile devices. The new fuel cell could power a handset for ten hours, twice as long as rechargeable batteries.

"When the handset is turned on, metal and water in the phone react to produce hydrogen gas," explained Oh Yong-soo, vice president of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' research center. "The gas is then supplied to the fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen in the air to generate power." Other fuel cells need methanol to produce hydrogen, while Samsung's needs only water.

Oh said water-powered handsets are expected to hit the market by 2010. "If the user uses the phone for four hours a day on average, they would have to change the hydrogen cartridge about every five days," Oh said. "Later handsets will be developed that don't need the hydrogen cartridges to be changed, and would only need to be filled with water."

Samsung D600 camera review: A place at the top

Beside all its extras, the successor of the famous Samsung D500 can also pride itself on having a 2 megapixel camera. And what are its pros and cons? The answer is to be found in this review. It features many sample photos, 3 sample video records as well as a comparison with two rivals - Nokia N90 and Sony Ericsson W800.

The actual phone used in this review is Samsung D600E - it is the same as Samsung D600, but it supports EDGE and it is tri-band, not quad-band. The cameras in D600 and D600E are absolutely the same.

As you all can see, photo-mobile phones are no longer a fashion craze. Step by step, they have grown into high quality devices, which are slowly, but surely getting into our daily practical life. Currently, the market with mobile devices is offering a lot of 1 megapixel camera phones, which manage to substitute any cheap compact digital camera, made to solely take the so called moment snapshots. Sony Ericsson and Nokia have also released a few mobile phones equipped with a camera of 2 megapixel resolution and auto focus.
Entering the photo mobile hall of fame

Sony Ericsson K750i (W800i, D750i) and Nokia N90 will soon have to share their company with another representative of the top-class photo mobiles equipped with a sensor with 2 megapixels resolution - the new elegant black Samsung D600, which comes to replace the successful D500 model. Just like its forerunner, it will be offered in an "E-version" with EDGE - the one we were given the chance to thoroughly test.

Let us first shortly describe the phone. I dare foretell that this attractive black slider will surely attract the majority of phone fans. It looks extremely elegant and luxurious. Its high quality construction and comfortable keypad make the overall impression even better. Samsung D600E's size is 96 × 47 × 22 mm. It weighs 99 g.

The phone is equipped with a brilliant active display of a 240 × 320 pixels resolution able to show 262K colors. It also has an exceptionally high-quality stereophonic speakers, a TransFlash memory card slot, 75 MB built-in memory, Bluetooth and finally, the most significant option for this review - a 2 megapixel camera.

In terms of function possibilities, the phone should satisfy even the most pretentious users. It offers a big phonebook, an organizer with synchronization options, a MP3 player and videos in MP4 format, an email client as well as details like java games or WAP browser. And that is not all; the D600E model supports EDGE data transfers, so you can use it as a fast modem as well.

Samsung E530 review: High-tech for the ladies

The girly Samsung E530 is quite a precious device that has a lot of modern functions and is nicely made up. Almost every woman will desire it. Do you want to see why?
Key features

* Uncommon design, suitable for women
* Megapixel camera
* Excellent display
* Bluetooth
* Special female functions

Main disadvantages

* No ringtone profiles
* No infrared port
* No memory card slot

Mobile phones with clamshell design always had an inexpressible magic especially for the female part of the population. That's why we don't have to wonder why mobile phones' manufacturers occasionally modify some of their successful clamshells for better suit women. Mostly, the modification consists in changes of color combinations and frequently in adding of special, female related functions to the phone menu.

The same happened with the reviewed Samsung E530. It is indistinguishable in hardware compared to the similar Samsung E720, which has arisen as good combination between the old clamshell E700 and the modern, high-end D500. We advice you to read the E720 review as well.

A decent sparkler

Samsung E530 is a rather good-looking clamshell phone at first sight. The rounded waveforms of the body suit well a phone without an outer antenna; at first sight it seems to be a little fatty; however, when you hold it in your hands or have it in the pocket its size is not limitative. The color combination is decent, the dark purple centre harmonize well with the purple-silver phone endings. It's a good thing that the manufacturer has abandoned the glaring red body colors, even for a phone targeted at women.

There is a small OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) status display on the front part of the phone, which is mounted approximately in its center. Above, you may see the megapixel camera lenses with external diode flash. Here you won't find the popular mirror for self-portrait shooting, because its function is reproduced perfectly by the status display.

You can find a combined data and power supply connector at the bottom edge of the phone, under a discreet plastic plug. There is a strap eyelet on the upper edge of the phone, which is a part of the elegant case, delivered with the phone. There is a volume control button and a microphone slot on the left side of the phone. On the opposite side of the phone you'll find a covered connector for stereophonic hands-free set - again supplied in the package. Above it you can find the camera activation button.

If left opened on the table, the phone is quite unsteady due to its oval shapes. There's no bigger area to prop at. It swings and turns around at every touch, more over, it outbalances much forward.

The Lithium-Ion battery is a direct part of the back cover, so the whole construction of the phone is solid and doesn't creak even under a stronger pressure, which is a problem with many other phones with batteries overlapped by a plastic shell. The accumulator has 800 mAh capacity, which provides the phone with enough energy for 330 minutes talk time or up to 200 hours of stand-by. The recharging cycle of the empty accumulator to its full capacity with the added travel charger doesn't take more than two hours. The information about the charging status is displayed in an interesting way: the phone itself doesn't inform you, it's the charge connector with the help of a colored light. The red light means that the phone is still charging; the green one means the opposite - full accumulator capacity.

Samsung E720 review: Design and functionality

Samsung has created the new E720 model by picking up the design of the celebrated clamshell E700 and the complex equipment of the D500 slider. The new clamshell phone is boosted with functions; it has two color displays, megapixel camera, Bluetooth, huge memory and MP3 player.
Key features

* Internal display with resolution of 176×220 pixels and 262K colors
* Outer OLED 65K colors display
* Attractive design
* Megapixel camera, which also shoots good quality videos
* MP3 player with control keys on the front cover
* Bluetooth

Main disadvantages

* No memory card slot
* No infrared port
* No ringing profiles

When Samsung launched its E700 model in September, 2003, its design was so successful that the phone received praising comments from both experts and customers. The latter, by the way, have been buying the phone ever since. It is no wonder; this attractive clamshell phone with a hidden antenna allures and thus makes the bewildered customer ignore the disadvantages in the equipment and the controlling.

Let's now turn to the present and take a closer look at the latest D500 model. The phone is very well equipped; it has an extension construction and a top quality display, a megapixel camera and Bluetooth, and the last, but not the least: it looks very good. This time, Samsung designers have gone for black color and have eliminated many minuses in the control system.

If we combine the best features of both phones mentioned above, we will get the new Samsung E720. This elegant clamshell mobile has two color displays, a megapixel camera and Bluetooth. It also has a built-in MP3 player, which is controlled by special keys on the front cover. Even though the blue color of the E700 model has been substituted by the somewhat monotonous gray, the new image suits the phone perfectly.

Samsung E800 review: Slide here, slide there

Samsung E800 offers a very luxurious design, quality color display, excellent ringing and an integrated camera for a price above the average. It's not an impressive phone from the function point of view but it will probably suit the needs of most users.

When Siemens introduced its sliding SL55 model, it caused a little storm on the mobile market. Nobody remembered the SL10 model from the end 90's and people were just mad from the flashing phone with a sliding construction. Time goes on and slide construction phones are becoming a trend.

The original Siemens got more than satisfactory successor (Siemens SL65), Sharp TM100 appeared exclusively in the T-Mobile network, even Sagem introduced a slide conception model (Sagem myC-4). Samsung did its bit as well, first with the rather technical model SGH-D410, but soon also with the more attractive SGH-E800 phone.

What's inside the egg?

The whole phone is made of plastic, even though it looks like it's made of some kind of a fine metal. Most of its surface is of a matted white plastic, which looks at sight better than a drab silver color. But you won't be spared of that, because the front part, which is trimming the display and the soft keys, is silver. I can imagine also some other color variants but Korean designers won't hear a word against the silver color.

Due to the rounded edges, the entire phone looks rounded. Comparing to the older Samsung D410 mobile phone, this model has an integrated in the body antenna. In the right upper corner where you should look for it, you'll find a slot for hanging the phone on a strap instead. Together with the phone you'll find an eyelet as well as a silver strap with an integrated handsfree in the package: you can use

On the right side of the phone, just below the mentioned slot, you'll find the masked handsfree connector. I discovered it after quite a long search because it's very dexterously hidden behind the button. After removing the silver cover (it's fixed and you don't have to worry that you might lose it) you'll find a connector looking like a small USB.

On the contrary, the silver label, placed a bit lower, can't be removed. It's an authentic button and is used for camera control. On the bottom part of the mobile phone there is a charger connector, protected by a non-fixed cover, which you'll probably lose early. Left side of the phone is occupied by a volume double-button.

Even with a magnifying glass you won't find a camera lens on the backside. Except an incised Samsung sign and a web address there is nothing at all. Yes, there is a battery safety lock taking a small place, but that's something inseparable.

The camera appears when you slide the top part of the phone. A camera lens with a mirror and a flash diode are hidden right there to avoid dust, shocks and scratches. It's not possible to shoot with a closed phone, but this minor inconvenience protects the lens.

Still the same display

The display is on the front side of the mobile. There is nothing to reproach for; it's the same quality as displays with other Samsung mobile phones. After Samsung came with a 262 thousand color display in the SGH-D410 model, I expected that we'll find similar displays with all following phones of the producer. But the time still hasn't come.

Thus Samsung E800 display can show "only" 65K color shades. It has 128 x 160 pixels available, which is today's standard resolution. It's an active TFT display, with physical size of 28 x 34 mm.

Where is the oval?

Keys are in a form of small ovals. With outside columns these ovals are cut on one side, and the bottom row of keys is deformed in the same way. The oval size is changed so if you close the phone step by step, the top part covers only one row of keys. Keys in the middle column must exactly joint the edge of the top part.

Something else is important for practical use. Keys have sufficient distance from each other so there's no danger to press some other key than the one you want to. Their stroke is quite small but the press works well. Overall, the keypad of this phone is good above the average.
